Vada Pav
Vada Pav is believed to have originated in the city of Mumbai in the 1960s. It was created as an affordable snack for the working-class population of Mumbai city.
Vada pav is not just a snack; It has cultural significance in Mumbai and is often referred to as the city's "poor man's burger" or "people's food".
Ingredients:
- Boil potatoes
- Gram flour
- Oil
- Mustard seeds
- Salt
- Turmeric powder
- Garlic-green chilies paste.
- Green coriander
Green chutney ingredients, red chutney
ingredients. Boil the potatoes and mash them. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Add
mustard. When mustard crackles, add curry leaves and garlic-green chillies and
coriander paste. Add salt, turmeric powder and boiled potatoes and mix well.
Make lemon sized balls of the prepared mixture. In a bowl, add 2 bowls of gram
flour, 2 spoons of rice flour, salt and turmeric powder. Add 2 cups of water
and prepare the mixture. Dip the potato balls in the batter and leave them in
the oil. Fry till it turn golden brown.
