Mandeli (Anchovy) fish curry

Ingredients: 
  • Anchovy fish
  • 1 bowl wet coconut
  • 7 to 8 red chilies
  • 1 onion
  • 6 to 7 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  •  6 to 7 tirphala (Szechuan Pepper)
  •  turmeric powder
  •  salt
  •  4 to 5 kokum
Mandeli (Anchovy) fish curry




First cut and clean the Anchovies. Add salt and keep it for 10 minutes. Wash off after 10 minutes. Now add wet coconut, onion, garlic, red chilies, tirphal (Szechuan Pepper), coriander seeds, and turmeric powder and add ½ cup water and grind it finely. Heat one and a half teaspoon oil in a pan. When the oil is hot, add chopped onion and curry leaves. 
When onion turns pink, add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes. Add washed anchovies and salt and Saute. Now add coconut gravy and kokum and add water as required. cover and cook for 10 minutes. Tasty Anchovies fish curry is ready.
