Sambhar
Ingredients:
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped tomato
- 1/4 cup chopped pumpkin.
- 3inch chopped drumsticks.
- 1/4 cup tamarind pulp
- Oil
- Salt
- Sambhar masala
- Red chili powder
- 7 to 8 curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp mustard
- 2 pinches of asafetida
- 1 dried red chili
- 1/4 cup chopped brinjal.
First
wash the tur dal (pigeon pea). Add 3 cups of water. Cook
in the cooker. Pour the cooked dal into a pot and put
it on the gas. Now add salt, tamarind pulp, sambar
masala and red chili powder. Cook the dal on medium
heat for 5 to 7 minutes. Heat oil for Tadaka. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds,
asafetida, curry leaves and red chilies. After tadka cover and simmer for 1
minute. Hot Sambhar ready.
