Puranpoli Indian Sweet Flatbread
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1 cup gram dal soaked for 7 to 8 hours.
- 1 cup grated jaggery
- 2 tbs Ghee
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
- ghee

First wash the soaked dal well. Add salt and water and cook it in a cooker. Remove the cooked dal in a pan. Add grated jaggery to it and keep it on heat. Keep stirring the mixture for 5 to 6 minutes. Now add cardamom powder and switch off the flame. After it cools down, grind it through a mixer. Pour the mixture back into the pan and keep it on the heat. Keep stirring for 8 to 10 minutes. Switch off the gas after 10 minutes. Allow the prepared mixture to cool. Now take 1 bowl of wheat flour in a big plate. Mix 2 teaspoons of ghee, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt in it. Add little water and knead the dough. Apply 1 tsp oil to the kneaded dough. And keep the dough covered for 10 minutes.
Now take a small ball of flour and make a bowl like this. Add Puran equal to the size of the dough and make a round shape. Tie a cotton cloth to the rolling board in such a way that the dough does not stick. Apply some rice flour to the rolling board. roll it on a rolling board. Put the rolled Puran Poli on the pan and apply ghee on top. After half a minute, turn the Puran Poli. Roast the roti for 1 to 2 minutes on medium heat. When the roti is fully cooked, turn it over. Now keep the gas on high and press the roti lightly and make it swell well. Apply ghee on top. Puran Poli ready.
