Vanilla Cake

 

Ingredients:

  •  2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar.
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk


Vanilla Cake
Instructions:

 Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.

Frosting suggestions:

Classic Vanilla Buttercream: Mix 4 cups powdered sugar, 1 cup unsalted butter, 4 tbsp. milk, and 1 tsp. vanilla extract until smooth and spreadable.

Whipped Cream: Whip 1 cup heavy cream, 2 tbsp. powdered sugar, and 1 tsp. vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
